Permission Email Evidence

To begin with we chose to use the Pop song 'I love it' by the signed artist Icona Pop. After researching thoroughly we decided against using a signed band as permission was unlikely and copyright actions would be taken. The email below is evidence that I contacted the record labels in connection with the artist Icona Pop. Asking for permission ensures that the record label are aware of the use of the song. I informed them it would not be uploaded to YouTube for copyright reasons. I had no reply to this email therefore we decided to not chose that song. If we were to use it we would of had to put a disclaimer on the finished video to confirm that we do not own the rights to the song and that myself and James would not be using the video as a promotional advertisement project to make profit. The record label would be unlikely to sue us for using the song however because it is copyrighted WDR could make a claim if we were not to mute the video permanently on a video site.
